Bed Bug Control in Ghatkopar: blood-fed bed bug close up on human skin

Is it really bed bugs?

Bites alone do not prove it. Wait until night if you can, then check with a torch along the mattress seams, the joints of the bed and the sofa cushions. Bed bugs hide during the day and come out while you sleep, so a quick look at noon often finds nothing.

  • Itchy red bites in a line or a small group, on skin that stays uncovered at night.
  • Rust-coloured stains or dark dots on the sheets and along the seams.
  • A flat, oval, reddish-brown insect about 4 to 5 mm long, fatter after it has fed.
  • A sweet, musty smell, if the room is badly affected.

Why bed bugs spread so easily here

Bed bugs do not come from dirt. They travel in bags, on second-hand beds and on people, and once inside a building they walk through shared walls. In the Pant Nagar MHADA layout and on the Asalpha hill, homes stand close together and shared drains choke often. The cracks and damp that come with this give them plenty of places to hide near the next bed.

That is why treating one room in Bhatwadi or Asalpha may not last if the room next door has them too. Neighbouring rooms can book together on one quote. In a tower flat near R-City the walls are newer, but a suitcase after a trip or a used sofa can bring them in just the same.

Two ways to treat, and how to choose

Treatment starts at ₹3,000. Your figure depends on the number of rooms, the method and how bad it is, and it comes in writing after the free inspection. If the bugs return inside the 1-year warranty, you get free follow-up visits, up to 3 a year.

  • Chemical treatment

A targeted treatment on the mattress, frame and furniture. It takes about 2 to 4 hours a room and keeps working for up to 3 months. It suits one or two affected rooms, and a follow-up comes 15 to 21 days later.

  • Heat treatment

The room is raised to 50 to 60°C and held there for 4 to 6 hours. This kills every stage, including eggs, and reaches inside furniture, with no chemical. It costs more, but one round is usually enough.

Why the spray from the shop did not work

It kills the bugs it touches. The rest stay safe behind the skirting, in the joints of the bed and under the carpet edge, and the eggs are not touched at all. About two weeks later, the eggs hatch and the bites start again. Spraying around can also push them into the next room, which is the last thing you want in a small flat. A proper job covers every hiding place and comes back to catch the new hatchlings.

Getting the room ready

  • Take off all bedding, wash it at 60°C or more, and keep it in sealed plastic bags.
  • Pull the bed and other furniture away from the wall, and open the bed frame if you can.
  • Do not shift things to another room before the visit, because the bugs go with them.
  • Ask the technician what to move out, such as clothes, medicines and electronics.

Hotels and guest rooms

Every new guest can bring bed bugs in. Hotels and guest houses in Ghatkopar can have rooms treated one at a time so the rest stay open, and can take a yearly plan. See commercial pest control in Ghatkopar.

Questions

Bed bugs in Ghatkopar: common questions

  • How much will bed bug treatment cost me in Ghatkopar?

It starts at ₹3,000. A single room costs less than a whole flat, and heat costs more than chemical treatment. The technician inspects for free and writes down your exact price before anything starts. The rate is the same in Ghatkopar East and West, with nothing added for the trip.

  • Do you treat khatmal in Asalpha, Bhatwadi and Pant Nagar?

Yes. Asalpha, Bhatwadi and Pant Nagar are all in our area. Bed, frame and furniture are treated together, from ₹3,000, with a free return visit inside the warranty. Where homes share walls, neighbouring rooms can book on one quote, which gives the bugs fewer places to run to.

  • Why do you come back after 15 to 21 days?

Eggs can survive a chemical treatment and hatch later. The follow-up comes 15 to 21 days after the first visit to catch those young bugs before they start laying eggs of their own. With heat treatment, the follow-up is there to check that the result has held.

  • How soon can we sleep on the bed again?

It depends on the method and the products used, so please ask the technician before work begins. You will be told which rooms to keep clear and for how long. With heat treatment there is no chemical to dry, but the room needs to cool down before you use it.

  • Do I need to buy a new mattress?

Usually not. Most mattresses can be treated, and carrying an infested one down the stairs can drop bugs along the way for your neighbours. Wait for the inspection before you decide. If a piece is too damaged to save, the technician will tell you, and a bed bug proof cover helps afterwards.

  • I wake up with bites but I cannot find a single bug. What now?

Check the seams, bed joints and sofa cushions at night with a torch, and look for dark dots and rust-coloured stains. Other insects can bite too, so do not spend money before you know. Book the free inspection, and the technician will tell you what it really is.

  • If only one room in our chawl has bed bugs, is it enough to treat that room?

Often not, since bed bugs move through shared walls and on clothes and bedding. If the room next door has them too, your room can get them back. Ask your neighbours first. If they agree, you can book together on one quote, and the technician can plan it room by room.

  • Can I keep my TV and fridge in the room during heat treatment?

The temperature rises slowly and stays at 50 to 60°C, which is well below what harms normal furniture. Some things must go out first, such as medicines, candles, aerosol cans and some electronics. The technician gives you the list at the inspection, so you have time before the treatment day.

  • I just came back from a trip. How do I keep bed bugs out of my home?

Keep your bag off the bed and away from the wall when you stay somewhere. Back home, open it in one place, wash your clothes hot straight away and check the seams of the bag with a torch. A few minutes of this is far cheaper than treating a whole flat.

  • How long will the treatment take on the day?

Chemical treatment takes about 2 to 4 hours for each room. Heat is held for 4 to 6 hours, plus time to set up and cool down, so plan for most of the day. Call 80979 41077, and after looking at your place the technician will give you the timing for your home.
